Danielle’s Desserts – Homemade Wonders
October 3rd, 2010I took some photos for Danielle Poux of Danielle’s Desserts earlier this week. Danielle is making and selling home-made style desserts in northern Virginia (Tysons Galleria, to be exact) starting this year. She has been a wonderful friend and client, and has been kind enough to ask me to do some photography.
Danielle opened her dessert shop after a long career in the business world. From my perspective, it’s quite an inspiring leap of faith. She has transitioned from long days in the office to longer days in the kitchen; often she works 7 days a week. Still, Danielle says the effort has been rewarding.
I love Danielle’s warm personality and endless enthusiasm. I think it’s part of what makes her shop so good; she puts that love and energy into her product and it shows. It’s a simple concept – love what you do, and let it shine.
My younger sister-in-law, a budding photographer herself, assisted and took photos as well. Here are some more shots from the day.
The hardest part of it all was enduring the amazing smell from the different desserts without actually eating them. Luckily, I was able to enjoy some after the shoot. Caramel and chocolate cake, I miss you already!
